People don't believe the numbers. Squat 135→405. Clean 95→305. 5K run 30:00→sub-20:00. That's fine — I don't need them to.
But here's the part they skip: the first number was the starting line. I wasn't coming back from something. I started CrossFit at 38 with no athletic base. There was no before. Just a bar with 135 on it and a decision.
Masters athletes obsess over the wrong variables — age, genetics, equipment. The one that moved everything for me was consecutive weeks. Ordinary ones. The ledger is unsexy: a PR has a date, and behind every date are months of sessions nobody watched.
You're not late. Late implies a schedule, and nobody handed you one. You just haven't opened the window.
The best athletic years don't begin after 40. They begin whenever you start acting like they matter.

I take on a small number of 1:1 coaching clients, mostly athletes over 35 who started late or are starting over. Full performance system: training, nutrition, recovery, built around your life. I open a few spots each month. If you want one, apply here — I read every application myself.
